5 Stars Alot of set for the price!
We received our set over two weeks ago, and remain as excited as if it just arrived. What great color and what a sharp picture. We have a 37″ Sony HDTV in our smaller living room, and this picture is even better; and we like our Sony a lot. It was an easy set to self install, and is an easy set to operate. Yet, it has the features and options to expand into a home theater with all the bells and whistles. The included swivel stand comes in handy, since the seating in our family room isn’t isolated in one primary location. It certainly is a high value set at today’s prices, and one you won’t regret owning. Go for it!

5 Stars great tv
Purchased the Samsung LN46B550 from Amazon after having considered the LN46A550 for quite a while. The B550 is the newer model of the same tv with a better design, better speakers, and more hdmi inputs. Received the product on March 27, 2009.

Easy to setup, the picture is outstanding, and contrary to some reports there is no problem with the sound. Completely satisfied with the purchase and would recommend to anyone. The pricing at $1,300 is a steal.

5 Stars Thank You Samsung
Just received the unit a few hours ago. It is a work of art. The photos do not reflect quality of materials and construction. Picture blows away 1080p DLP. Wish it was 120hz, but for 60hz the 5ms response rate makes up for it. After several attempts to fix my HLT5087SAX DLP purchased from Amazon, Samsung replaced it with the LN46B550K1FXZA. I am a Samsung customer for life!

5 Stars Samsung is great
This flat panel is very nice. The 46 inch LN46b550 is light in weight and easy to move or lift onto a flat panel stand. The remote control is easy to operate. The several brightness and contrast settings make it easy to adjust the picture depending on the lighting in your room. You will be happy with a very high quality picture screen and this is the best buy for this set through Amazon.

You can spend $500 more for the 120 Hz technology but it is not that big a deal to me. 120 Hz is supposed to be even higher quality for fast motions on the screen and is a plus if you watch significant sports. However if you have an extra $500 go ahead and go for the LN46B650.

4 Stars My New TV
Hey I’m no expert on TVs but I heard good things about Samsung and this model seemed to be a good value. This was part of a total face lift for the family room. We got rid of the old carpet and put in laminate flooring (antique oak style), new taupe and white paint, new wall art, art light (cool), and also some cool track lighting that looks like studio lighting. The old entertainment center and tube tv was out and replaced with a great black (with red edge highlights here and there)entertainment center that covers the entire wall with shelves and cabinettes. The Samsung looks great (touch of red is hardly noticable, but goes great with the furniture. We set up a new Wii Fit and it is fantastic on the big screen. This room was only occasionally used by us; now it is so inviting and fun that we are spending a lot more time there exercising and enjoying the atmosphere.

The Samsung is very easy to set up and use and has loads of features. The picture is clear and bright and has no problem with a window on the opposite wall; we can close the horizontal blinds to darken the room, but even when open, the tv is bright enough to no show an annoying reflection. This tv works great with an older home theater system but already has great built in sound. I would highly recommend this TV.

5 Stars Great value
This was a perfect replacement for the old 13 inch CRT TV we had in the kitchen. It’s compact and lightweight with a great HDTV picture off our amplified attic antenna. We’re at least 20 miles from most stations and 60 miles from some (Batavia, Ohio not Detroit for this TV).

5 Stars Samung LCD HDTV
The picture quality is very clear and sharp. We have DISH Network. I feel confident to say this is a excellent tv to buy for your first purchase of HDTV for its size.

4 Stars Love it
I am very proud of this purchase. It is the perfect size for my bedroom. The picture is great. The only thing I don’t like is the plastic base. It looks a bit cheap. But, other than that, I have no complaints.

5 Stars Samsung 19″ LCDHDTV
We are very pleased with this product thus far. The picture is good as well as the sound. We have it mounted with a wall bracket in our kitchen.

5 Stars Samsung Savvy
This is my first flat screen and I love it. I had reviewed consumer reports and though the 19 inches were not reviewed Samsung was highly rated in other categories. I have not been disappointed. The picture is incredible and the sound is superb. This is the perfect small flat screen you’ve been looking for. Remember it is 19 inches. You might want to go to 22 for bedroom or another area. This 19 is perfect for kitches, work rooms, etc. Love this little Samsung!

User Ratings and Reviews

1 Star BEWARE!
This item isn’t described well!

There are 2 kinds of DVI cable. One (this one) is a DVD-I. The other is a DVD-D (for digital only). Most computer video output cards use the DVD-D. This DVD-I one WILL NOT WORK for most computer and modern LCD monitors!

IT WOULD REALLY BE NICE IF THESE DEALERS WOULD STATE THIS CLEARLY, even though one does mention it within the fine print. Pretty Tricky… By the time you open the obnoxious bubble wrap, it’s yours..but feel good because these merchants will one day run out through selling them to us dummies, then there will only be the DVI-D, and we will all be okay. The dealers are unloading them without a honest attempt to let you know they will not work, and at the price it’s not worth sending them back. SLEEZY PRACTICE!

1 Star DO NOT BUY THIS CABLE
This cable is not properly labeled. When I purchased this cable I was unaware that there are two main types of DVI cable, DVI-I (integrated) and DVI-D (digital only). IT IS NOT LABELED ANYWHERE ON THIS PAGE OR ON THE PACKAGING THAT THIS IS A DVI-I CABLE. DVI-I CABLES DO NOT WORK WITH ANY STANDARD LCD MONITOR. This cable is a DVI-I (Dual Link), if you know for a fact that is what you need then it’s not a bad price. But if you ask me don’t buy it anyway because it’s not clearly labeled.

5 Stars dvi cable
the samsung d5068 dvi 12ft. cable is excellent,i hooked it up to my 32″lcd. now i can watch movies and video streaming on a bigger screen

5 Stars Well worth the money
This cable was about 1/5th the price of similar ones available in big name tech stores – and appears to have equal or better quality.

User Ratings and Reviews

2 Stars Not ideal
This product came with some problems. First off the port for the digital optical connection on the reciever was too loose and will not hold the cable in tight. Basically it just falls out. When I tried to return the clearly defective product to Amazon the told me “no chance, talk to Samsung”. Hmmm I bought a bad product from Amazon and they refuse to stand by it.

There is no way to alter the picture aspect for the resolution selected. If you select 1080i yu get 16:9 aspect, no options. Same with 720p. If you select a lower resoultion it goes to 4:3 aspect. A minor annoyance but since I have a 4:3 sized 1080i HD ready TV, I lose major amount of screen space. I basicaly get a 25″ picture on my 36″ TV and there is nothing I can do.

Since my ability to return this product is gone (get service Amazon!) and my ptions for HD tuners limited I guess I’ll have to deal with it. I will certainly seek other options than buying from Amazon in the future though. Stores with a solid service and return commitment will be the critical factr in the future.

3 Stars good reception, but…
The ability to tune stations of weaker signal strength exceeds that of the tuner that comes with your DTV; However, there are a few serious restrictions with this unit:

A. No programming capability unless you have a DTV with which to display — sort of a catch-22 to all those people out there looking for a DTV tuner for your analog TVs… in other words, you already have a DTV in the first place… If you don’t have a DTV, this unit will not help you because you can’t program the channels;

B. No channel add on capability; You must auto program ALL your channels, meaning you can’t reposition your UHF antenna… it’s all or nothing; Oh sure, you can 24 in a channel, but it does not do anything — it’s a dead channel in your registry / channel list; Either you auto program or you don’t receive the broadcast;

4 Stars The return of free TV
This DTV STB works. Installation is a breeze . . . and here in Philadelphia we recieve ~20 digital channels. So who needs cable, FIOS or Direct TV . . . with their monthly subscription fees. If I want to see and HBO series I can rent it at the video store or stream it off the web.

4 Stars Good To Go
I bought this for the one HD ready TV we have in house. The smaller digital converter boxes do not convert HD signals, so I wanted one that would finally give me HD on my HD ready TV (haven’t had cable for over 15 years).

I plugged it in and followed the easy to read quick setup guide. It scanned for channels and within a couple minutes I had all the digital stations in my area.

The sensitivity is good. It even showed a better picture on the two weaker stations my other converters have intermittent pictures on.

The setup menus have a few more button pushes to get to them than, but are easy enough to follow. Once we worked the box to find the settings we like, I rarely go back to change them.

The quick display settings for info, channel guide, and aspect ratios are on the remote. This unit gives a full channel guide and you can scroll ahead a couple of hours to see what’s coming.

There are no channel buttons on the receiver, so don’t lose the remote. And my older universal remote is not programmed to control this box, so we have two remotes floating around instead of one. Not to bad though, as our TV is input sensing and turns itself on when we turn on this receiver. Channel and volume are controlled by the box from the remote.

1 Star Junk
I’ve had this for months now and hate it more everyday. It does what it is supposed to do but the remote is crap and the remote functions are crap. It will not save QAM favorites. Perhaps it is fine for OTA ATSC signals but you will have to sacrifice your sanity for QAM.

Every once in a while it locks and cold boot fixes it. Lots of times when changing channels it will skip channels or not change at all.

All-in-all, I could have spent the $159 towards a newer 42″ HDTV that has the atsc/qam built in and been much happier.
