5 Stars great tv
it’s a tv, it does what it does. the only minor drawback is that the inputs take about 1.5 to 2 seconds to switch from one to another. overall great tv.
5 Stars Great LCD TV
The tv and remote are easy to use, the picture is fabulous. Sound is decent, I might add auxillary speakers or go through my stereo later. Did a fair amount of research before purchasing a tv (Consumer Reports, epinions) and it paid off. Plan to turn off the silly noise that the tv makes when it turns on (it’s in the manual how to turn it off).
5 Stars Worth the premium. Picture quality is second to none.
I researched 3 straight weeks before deciding on a 46″ lcd tv. Although you will pay a premium over equivalent Sharp and some Sony models, there’s a reason that Amazon.com alone has 840+ reviews of this TV. The picture and color quality is simply amazing.
Turn off all the lights, pop in a Blu-ray and set your TV to “Movie Mode”. Right out of the box, the default TV settings blew me away.
Pros:
Vibrant and accurate colors (place it next to a Vizio and you’ll see the difference)
Deep blacks
Plenty of HDMI and other source connectors
Again, picture quality will blow you away
SWIVLES ON THE BASE!
Cons:
Speakers suck. Get yourself a receiver and a decent 5.1 system
Too heavy to lift on your own (but I guess most 46″+ tvs would be)
A magnet for fingerprints and dust particles
Shipping:
Amazon shipped this TV through their CEVA carrier. These guys were on time, knowledgable and didn’t leave a mess.
5 Stars Awesome TV!!! 120Hz is amazing!!!
I just bought this tv and absolutely love it. I actually downgraded from a 60″ mitsubishi 1080p DLP tv, and was kind of worried that the smaller size might be an issue. I was wrong, the colors are so vibrant, and the detail so amazing, that i didnt even notice the smaller size. The deep red bezel and touch controls on the tv are also really cool. I cant really speak to the extra connections or anything, as i have all of my connections through a yamaha surround receiver so im only using a single hdmi input. It takes maybe 2-3 seconds for the tv to show the picture after turning on, or switching signals (xbox, ps3, dvr, computer). The only real downside ive noticed so far is that it doesnt automatically fill the screen with the picture as my mitsubishi did. (ie, get rid of the black boxes either on top/bottom, or sides). granted im still learning alot about the tv, and the manual is huge, so there may be a way to get it to work, but i havent found it yet after going through all of the regular menus. I also cant speak to the speakers on the tv as again, i use a surround sound receiver.
Overall this tv is utterly amazing in the clarity, vibrance, and details that the picture shows. The 120Hz took a bit of getting used to at first. Its kind of strange how it makes every tv show almost look like a soap opera in the way those are filmed. Its hard to describe, but the motion of people in particular look like they are filmed live or something. Again, took some getting used to, and didnt really like it at first, but its definitely grown on me. And there is a menu to adjust the level of the 120Hz (off, low, medium, high). Mines currently set on medium. Also, as a previous review said, the lower quality channels do show lots of pixelation and such, but the high def channels are amazing. The tv is also very bright (lights up my whole living room). I actually turned down the lcd backlight because i like to watch tv with little surrounding light, and the tv was hurting my eyes.
Defintely take the time to play with each setting, to find what works best for you, and you will love this tv.
5 Stars No Problems Great Product Great Service
Delivered one week after ordered. No problems. Two guys brought it in, unboxed it and made sure it worked. This is my third Samsung LCD. I also have the 52″ 650 and an older 28″. I used to buy nothing but Sony but Samsung makes the best LCD for the money. I was able to get it for $1400 but I see the price is not dropping on this model anymore because they are coming out with the 2009 models and this one is sold out in most places that have the best prices. I don’t think anyone has the new ones in stock yet so get it while you can you won’t be sorry.
